Indian cuisine has earned growing recognition in Tokyo’s Michelin Guide, showcasing the city’s appreciation for authentic subcontinental flavors and techniques. The 2026 Michelin Guide Tokyo recognizes three exceptional Indian restaurants, all earning Bib Gourmand status for their outstanding value and culinary excellence.

The 2026 edition welcomes Biryani Osawa to join returning Bib Gourmand recipients SANTOSHAM and Kacchal Bacchal. Biryani Osawa represents a unique concept in the global dining scene—a reservation-only restaurant serving exclusively biryani, with all 10 counter seats starting simultaneously timed to the rice’s completion.

This unique dining format operates on a two-seating system, preparing 20 portions per cooking. The restaurant has achieved legendary status with a remarkable 4.03 Tabelog rating—exceeding the rare 4.0 threshold.

The menu focuses on three varieties:

  1. Mutton Biryani (Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday lunch and dinner) – ¥3,000
  2. Chicken Biryani (Thursday dinner and Friday lunch only) – ¥3,300
  3. Seasonal Biryani (Friday dinner only, featuring premium ingredients like lobster and oysters)

Full-size portions available for an additional ¥800.
